Cakes By Toni, LLC is a private cake studio located in Edgewater, Maryland, just outside of Annapolis. I am proud to serve the entire DMV area.
How much are your cakes?
There are no set prices on my cakes because every cake I create is unique and custom-designed for each customer. Cake prices vary depending on the size, number of servings, flavor choices, the intricacy/complexity of your design and structure, and hand-sculpted elements. For cakes that require sculpting, we typically start with at least 20 servings in order to have enough cake to work with (even if your crowd is smaller than this). There is a minimum order of $300 for Celebration Cakes, $500 for 3D Sculpted Cakes, and $800 for Wedding Cakes.
Why are your cakes so expensive?
You are not just paying for flour, sugar, and eggs! You are paying for time, artistry, skill, expertise, advice, professionalism, service, safety, and the assurance to know that I am committed to delivering a product that I stand behind; a cake that not only looks amazing but tastes amazing!
TIME-All of my work is custom and made fresh to order. Creating custom cakes is a tough job and extremely time-consuming! It takes on average about 12 hours to mix, bake, design, create, and decorate; a custom-designed, edible-art, show-piece, which will be the center of your event! Specialty, multi tiered, and sculpted cakes require much more time for designing, structuring, and decorating! Hand sculpted figures and sugar flowers can take hours upon hours to create. For example, hand sculpted sugar flowers are made petal by petal - cut, thinned, veined, color dusted, and wired together to look like a real bloom.
I only use high-quality ingredients: imported Madagascar Vanilla Beans, Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Extract, Valrhona Premium French Chocolate, European style butter, and Brown Eggs, Fresh Fruits, Milk/Buttermilk. I use the world-famous Carma Massa Ticino Fondant imported from Switzerland, arguably the best fondant in the world!
I work exclusively with Fondant! Fondant is expensive! Most bakeries/cake artists charge anywhere from $7 - $25 per serving for fondant cakes. I try my best to stay competitive and offer reasonable prices to my customers.
What products do you offer? Do you sell sheet cakes, basic/simple cakes?
Cakes By Toni, LLC is a private cake studio specializing in unique custom cakes for all occasions. I pride myself on creating one-of-a-kind works of art, so NO, I do not offer “basic” cakes because that is just not my style. I work closely with you to make sure each “show stopping” cake is unique and reflects the recipient’s personality and sense of style. I create custom “centerpiece” cakes. Not basic cakes. Additional products offered as ADD-ONS ONLY to a custom cake order include Smash Cakes, Non-decorated Kitchen Cakes(sheet cakes), Cake Shooters & Cake Jars. *Please Note: Cake Shooters, and Cake Jars can only be ordered by the dozen.

How do I order a cake?
Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with all the event and cake details; Please include the following information in your email: Name, Phone Number, Event Type, Event Location, Event Date, Event Time, Theme, Colors, Flavors, Number of Servings Needed, Requested Inscription, and any ideas or pictures you have for reference. Please allow 24-48 hours to confirm availability and collect additional details. ***Please note that I do NOT completely COPY another artists creation! My goal is to take design elements that you like, and create a one-of-a-kind cake especially for you! So if you are attaching photos to an order inquiry, please tell me what you like about the photos you are referencing.
How much notice do you need?
I am usually booked a few weeks to months in advance. Therefore, I encourage early ordering. I recommend a minimum of 4-6 weeks, but I am happy to fit you in whenever my schedule permits.
What is your payment policy?
Cakes are first come first serve and I only do a limited number of cakes per week. Therefore, your date becomes reserved only when a cake contract is drawn up, signed and a 50% non-refundable deposit (100% in the case the cake(s) is booked less than one month in advance) is received. In the event of cancellation, your deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. Final payments are due four weeks prior to your event date. Payments can be made by cash(appointment only) or by credit/debit card, Apple Pay, or Android Pay electronically via Square.
Why is the deposit NON-REFUNDABLE?
When you book your date by paying the deposit I turn down all other order requests for that date. There would be no way for me to go back and get customers I said no to, to back-fill your spot if you decide to cancel your order. Your deposit ensures availability for you and I manage my entire production schedule based on your order once you book it.
What is your cancellation policy?
In the event of cancellation: Cakes cancelled prior to the 14-day lockout date will be refunded the final payment only. The 50% deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. Cakes cancelled after the 14-day lockout date will not receive any refund.
Do you deliver?
Yes! Delivery and setup is available with a fee for all wedding cakes, for 3D sculpted cakes, and for special occasion cakes of 4 tiers or larger ONLY. All other cakes must be picked up. Delivery is required for most wedding cakes, some 3D Sculpted Cakes, and all special occasion cakes with 4 tiers or larger.
Can I pick up my cake?
Pick-up is available for single, 2 or 3 tiered cakes only and pickup times are scheduled at the time an order is placed. Once a cake has been picked up by you or a representative it is considered accepted and a release waiver must be signed. Customer assumes all responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves Cakes By Toni, LLC's possession.
Do you offer Tastings/consultations?
YES!! Consultations are available by APPOINTMENT ONLY for events with 100 or more guests. There is a $80 pre-paid consultation fee to book a consultation. Consultations last 60mins and at the end of the consultation you will have a cake design and a quote for that specific design. Consultations include a tasting of my top 6 flavor combinations for two people. *Please note: cake designs/cake sketch's remain in the possession of and the property of Cakes By Toni, LLC until an order is placed, a contract is drawn up and signed, and the 50% non-refundable deposit is received.
Your cakes look good, but do they taste good too?
So glad you asked! YES!! My cakes are made using high quality ingredients; European Style Butter, Milk/Buttermilk, Brown Eggs, Fresh Fruits, Valrhona Premium French Chocolate, Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Beans, & Nielsen Massey Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Extract. I work exclusively with the world-famous Carma Massa Ticino Fondant imported from Switzerland, arguably the best fondant in the world! I use only all-butter recipes for my buttercreams, no shortenings will ever be added. These quality products do cost more, but also give you, my customers, the highest quality, best tasting product possible.
What are cake sizes and serving sizes?
